The festive season is the perfect time to travel, and for content creators and holiday lovers alike, it’s also prime time for capturing scroll-stopping photos. From twinkling lights and snow-covered streets to historic landmarks dressed in full holiday glam, Instagrammable Christmas destinations are more popular than ever.
A December 2025 report ranking the most Instagrammable Christmas destinations named Rockefeller Center as the most popular holiday location on social media. The study, conducted by influencer marketing platform Heepsy, analyzed more than 30 well-known destinations worldwide to determine where Christmas content performs best online.
Researchers evaluated Instagram hashtag volume, Google search interest, decoration start dates, and annual visitor numbers, with final rankings weighted heavily toward Instagram popularity. Combined, the data offers travelers a clear snapshot of which festive destinations are the most visually striking and most frequently shared during the holiday season.
“The best spots for Christmas photos can be unexpected,” said Tabi Vicuña, Founder at Heepsy. “Beyond the well-known capitals, it’s the cozy markets, spots in historically rich neighborhoods, and charming seasonal event hubs that offer the most memorable and shareable holiday moments while exploring local traditions and events.”
